Welcome to 2024! Many Sustainable Endurance athletes have established goals and targeted key events for this year. The training has started, the motivation is high, so now let's eat!! What?

Athletes spend months training diligently, preparing to be in top form for important goal events. It is also important to increase/adjust nutrition to match the workload. Now that the training load has increased, the food intake must increase also. How much food and what kind of food? Well, it depends!

To keep it simple, because nutrition is very customized, I have incorporated some images below from the United States Olympic committee.

Training volume and intensity vary from day to day and week to week leading up to goal/key events. Eating meals and fueling workouts or races should be cycled according to how hard or easy it is. Stay strong and stay healthy during your training. Focus on recovery with adeqate food, hydration, sleep and take rest days when prescribed. Go into your events feeling strong and fresh!
